ARM THREADLIFT
A
Threadlift for the body is a convenient, less invasive alternative to traditional surgery, designed for people experiencing early signs of aging. This innovative arm lift procedure can be performed in just one or two hours. During an arm threadlift, the Doctor inserts thin threads into the skin through tiny incisions made in the targeted area. These threads attach to the skin tissue and are then pulled to lift and smooth the skin.

Almost immediately, treated areas will be raised slightly, eliminating sagging and giving patients a rejuvenated appearance. Because patients usually remain fully conscious during the procedure, they can approve the look of their thread lift while the Doctor does the work. Once the threads are knotted, they become hidden within the skin itself, and any scarring that results will be invisible.*
The threads which are used for body thread lift are mainly made of absorbable PDO or PCL material. Mono threads or COG threads may be used depending on the area to be lifted. COG or Barbs are embedded in the skin to promote fibrosis, the formation of new connective tissue bundles. The newly formed connective tissue acts as a type of scaffolding to hold up the skin, making it firm in the process. Skin tends to lose firmness and elasticity and sags with age because the volume of elastin and connective tissue in the skin diminishes over time. Cells produce hyaluronic acid in response to the fibrosis, which attracts and builds moisture in the area to make the skin firm and full. When the microvessels in the skin become traumatized by the thread insertion, they open up, and new blood with oxygen and nutrients flow to heal them, which also results in younger looking skin.
THREAD COMPONENTS
PDO (Polydioxanone):
– Lasts between 6 – 12 months
– The threads will typically be dissolved within a year
– Collagen stimulated during the treatment can sometimes last until well after the thread has been reabsorbed.
PLLA (Poly-L-Lactic Acid, similar to the filler known as Sculptra):
– Lasts between 1.5 – 2 years
– Even more effective at stimulating collagen production than PDO
– Once dissolved, the material breaks down into lactate, glucose, carbon dioxide and water
– One of the commonly used materials by advanced thread lift doctors for treatment
– Collagen stimulated during the treatment can sometimes last until well after the thread has gone
PCL (Polycaprolactone infused with Vitamin C):
– Lasts between 2 to 3 years
– Bonds and structure in PCL are stronger and more complex, thus taking a long time for our bodies to dissolve
– The slow rate of degradation makes it a good material to deliver Vitamin C to the surrounding tissues
– Vitamin C is proven to prevent pigment formation, lighten existing pigments and has anti-ageing effects
– It is extremely potent at stimulating collagen production
– Once dissolved, the material breaks down into carbon dioxide and water
– Popular fast for dark eye circles reduction
– Collagen stimulated during the treatment can sometimes last until well after the thread has gone
